The details

Okeanos was the eldest of the Titans. Son of Uranos (Heaven) and Gaia (Earth), he was the origin of freshwater, god of rivers, lakes and rain clouds.

With 280 days of annual precipitation. "Okeanos rising" was an obvious symbol for Bergen rising as a tournament location and destination for Warhammer 40K events.

All content below is subject to change as we are in "pre-planning from march until end of july 2026

A note on the 2027 event:

The 2026 event was accidentily held during winter vacation in the eastern part of Norway.

We suffered 26 drops, across the event, in the weeks running up to the event. We have worked to avoid a similar issue this year, which is why the event is in march. The 2028 event will be early february.

In 2026 we dropped our social plans due to the chaos we suffered from all the drops. Ths year we are re-focusing our efforts on social events friday and saturday.

We are attempting to draw private funding that will help us balance the bdget and ensure we can offer better terms for those dropping out after paying. Currently though, we have been running deficits, but are hoping the addition of our "Peacekeeper Cuircuit" will allow us to build a surplus in 2028.

We ask for understanding in this policy, as we try to make the event economically self-sufficient.

Ticket Insurance: Checkin does offer ticket insurance for a small fee. If you fear you might miss out and don't simply want you ticket moved to the next event. This is a good option.

IMPORTANT REGARDING TICKETS, PAYMENT AND WAITLISTING

There will ONLY be 84 tickets.

We value large table size and spacing between tables

ONLY paying for the ticket reserves your place on the roster. IF there are available tickets, but BCP registration is full, we will remove those that have only registered and not paid

If there are no more tickets available, you will be waitlisted. When a spot opens you will automatically be awarded a ticket and informed of this by our payment service Checkin.

Core information in this section

Judge: Pending

...... picked up 40k 8 years ago and has been a competitive for the last 6.. He has represented Norway at WTC three times

The past year he ha has been focusing on judging and organizing events. As part of his responsisbilities in the association 2d6 in oslo (Norways largest subscription based wargaming association) he has managed collaborations with the FEQ and hired one of their judges (invitcus) to hold a class in the french approach to judging and event managememt. Sondre aims to professionalize 40k events in Norway and increase the commitments having judges present for all major and minor events as well as increasing the standards.

For Okeanos Rising 2027 we are considering 90 minute lunches in addition to 90 minute dinner.

The added time will provide participants more time to set up their tables, but more importantly help us develop the streaming of the event.

For 2027 we want to stream more of the event and include more interviews etc. To do that, the streaming team will require more time.

Regarding the "best painted army"- competition

Angelo Di Chello, Erkka Marttio and Elise Stave will be judging the "Best Painted Army" - Competition.

Before breaking for dinner, all participants entering the competition will put their armies on display. Remember to check the "Best painted army" box so that we have a list of those entering this competition. Entry is free to all 40K participants.

Winner will be announced during the awards ceremony after the 5th match.

Security

The rooms containing models will be locked for the night and everything will be safe.

During the active hours there are multiple security guards roaming the venue along with voluntary staff from the organizer.

We are not promoting the event to an audience for 2026, but will are selling audience tickets. We don`t expect a meaningfull audience for the event, but we are using the 2026 expansion event to practice audience flow and risk management with regards to the safety of models, exhibitions and other valuables at the event.

Experiences gained and feedback from attendees on the topic of audience handling and experienced security, will be valuable as we plan for the 2027 expansion event, which will be promoted county-wide in the hope of drawing a larges audience to experience the event we are building.

Streaming at the event

Streaming will be provided by the Veizla team. Their main focus will be the 40K top table, but they will also stream/record other parts of the event. We will be in dialogue with Veizla over the coming months to decide on how to organize the stream and present the event in the best possible way.

Expect the closing ceremony to be streamed.

For Okeanos Rising 2027 we have switched some of the rooms and will now be using, among others, the much larger Per Gynt hall, Troldtog and a few other rooms.

More than 900 sqm of space for tournament play.

Outside there is another 800 sqm over three floors to be used for mingling, social activity and exhibitions. In addition we are using other rooms for various activities. A map of the venue will be presented in the social page of Okeanos Rising 2027

Tournament Companion (not updated)

A gallery of terrain that includes measurements, will be presented below. The one currently featured is old and for demonstration purposes only. In addition we will present a guide on how to set up the terrain correctly.

For Okeanos Rising 2027 we are printing brand new terrain.

A gallery will be made available here at some point in September to show off a variation of faction styled terrain.

For 2026 we are experimenting with our prize policy in order to work towards the above mentioned goals. To that end we are also working towards providing meaningful prizes for a wider range of participants than those in the top three places.

*Participants awarded ticket refunds for Nidaros Grand Tournament (NGT), will be provided said refund after their attendance has been confirmed by NGT staff. We hope this will stimulate more players to attend more tournaments, but also to put in their best effort even if their only hope is to end up in the mid-table.

All terrain at Okeanos Rising is printed with Bambu Lab 3D printers.

Bambu Lab is an excellent choice for Event Organizers, Painters designing their own models, Cosplayers and miniature gamers in love with kit bashing.

The printers can be equipped with 0.2 nozzles for excellent detail.

There are restaurants and supermarkets everywhere around the venue, but food and drink can also be pre-ordered at the venue.
